Programming, STEM, and coding bootcamp in New York City (NYC) for disadvantaged minorities.

Helping underserved college students start tech careers.

Project Alpaca is a career prep non-profit offering multi-layered support to under-resourced NYC college students entering the tech industry.

In a safe yet rigorous environment they receive both group and individual mentorship as they develop the sophisticated skills necessary to succeed as tomorrow’s problem solvers and critical thinkers.

Our free 9-month program consists of an intimate cohort of 12–15 students with a tailored curriculum in a hybrid in-person and online environment. Programming includes: hands-on real-world projects, portfolio making, speaker workshops, 1:1 mentorship, networking events, industry events, job interview coaching, company visits, and internship/job matching opportunities.

The Alpacees (Our Mentees)

Mentees are our young participants who are at the precipice of their first careers, and are being asked to proactively design a blueprint for this phase of their lives. Participating in Project Alpaca means they are actively training to become a leader, first by being the director of their own career plan, and eventually being recognized by their communities. Project Alpaca evolves as they evolve.

The Alpacas (Our Mentors)

Mentors share their expertise, insights and perspectives by offering group workshops, providing individualized guidance, and cultivating supportive connections with mentees.
