The Alpacees
(Mentees)

Our mentees, or “the Alpacees”, are currently in college, just graduated, or have plans to return to college. Most come from low income households, worked to pay their own tuition, and/or support their own families financially... all while being a college student. They are preparing to embark on their first career and are ready to take a step forward in their desired field. They’re always eager to learn, but lack some of the skills, experience and networks needed to reach their goals. Yet every one of their stories demonstrate a determination to achieve and succeed.

Project Alpaca fills in the gaps that their schools and families could not fill but are needed to bridge their college and career experiences. This includes opportunities to meet professionals working in their desired careers, relate to mentors who open doors to internships, and receive coaching to help our mentees reach their goals.

Our hope is for all our Alpacees to be able to thrive in a career of their own choosing, and that they continue to contribute to a community that helps others achieve their professional goals.
