The Program
We accept applications to join our career mentorship program every Spring. Please check back for updates.
What does the Project Alpaca program look like?
A 9-month long program that is tailored to each cohort of Alpacees.
We meet weekly in the city for professional development workshops. See past workshops here for a better sense of our curriculum.
We host networking events for Alpacas and Alpacees to have fun and get to know each other. Most importantly we want Alpacees to get comfortable with networking.
We attend industry events together. For example, we’ve attended the Global Game Jam at Microsoft where the Alpacees created a game in one weekend and set up a booth for people to play the game.
From the program, an Alpacee will:
Gain confidence by understanding their strengths and weaknesses better
Learn transferable skills from hands-on professional development workshops
Learn employable skills from training projects
Become more comfortable at social networking events
Gain access to a community of mentors from their dream professional fields and beyond
Build a resume, LinkedIn profile, and portfolio to prepare for job applications
Receive coaching on job interviews and throughout their application process
Meet other Alpacees in their support network
Here are some expectations to make the Project Alpaca experience meaningful:
Be present. We expect close to full attendance.
Be willing to learn from their paired Alpaca/mentor.
Be active in social events and portfolio-building projects.
